What is OWI?

OWI provides business development services for wellness technology companies in order to increase the success probability of launching a new business in the wellbeing industry. OWI provides mentoring, networking as well as help in accessing relevant funding in international context.

Purpose

The purpose of the Oulu Wellness Institute Foundation is to promote the wellness of people and communities by supporting companies and other actors in the productization, conceptualization and commercialization of the world-class competence, and upgraded services processes of the wellness sector.

Background

OWI was established in December 2005. The background to the establishment was the decision made by the City of Oulu on its 400th anniversary and long-term preliminary work for the promotion of the well-being sector in the Oulu region. The foundation was established by 26 key companies and actors in northern Finland.
